Electric Utility sheds light on IT system interactions
Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) can result in unexpected challenges for both IT and business-side staff. One such situation arose at a GEM utility industry client that had adopted SAP as its enterprise software system. The SAP implementation was successful and well-supported by the IT and business teams, but operational problems persisted because the IT staff needed to acquire a better understanding of the interactions between SAP and the five key 'outboard' systems that supported the Distribution organization.
